Big Predictions For A Big Saturday

The calendar is getting shorter and shorter and wrestling has finally embraced that fact and lightened the major show schedule until after the new year. Which for us means that today will be the last time the Predictions Championship will be defended until 2023. But there are two big events today and here’s how the crew thinks ROH Final Battle and NXT Deadl1ne will go down. Side note: Lisa has drawn the last two events. If that somehow happens at the end of the night, we’ll end the year with the belt vacated. We’ll be back next week with a quick review of today’s events as well as the nominees for the 2022 Finisher Year-End Awards, coming December 30th.

With exclusive Zack commentary!

ROH Tag Titles: Dem Boyz to go over FTR. They’ll continue to drop all the straps en route to a cooling off – and a second run as AEW champs in a few months.

ROH Trios Titles: The Prince Nanas (or is it The Princes Nana?) have been getting a lot of TV time, and that’s no accident. They’re big, they’re imposing, and they’ll get a (probably brief) run with gold.

Swerve/Lee vs. Shane Taylor Productions: C’mon. This should be a squash. Maybe a literal squash, because Keith is huge and Swerve will step on a motherfucker like it’s nothing.

ROH TV Title: This will be a banger, but it’s unfortunately the most obvious match on the card. Joe’s gonna kill him.

ROH Women’s Title: You don’t bring a talent like Athena in and not drape her in gold… is what I said several months ago. It finally is coming to fruition though. Should be another banger.

ROH Pure Title: It doesn’t make a lot of sense for this belt to change hands here, especially with the impending dissolution of the BCC (more on that later). Garcia in a MotY contender.

ROH Men’s Title: I hate all of it. Like, why would either of these guys be “the guy” in ROH? I get that Claudio will need something to do, with BCC unraveling. But why not the TNT Title? Why not a tag run with Bryan? A program with Sting, for funsies? Anything but this… but that’s how it’s gonna be. Big swing, Brutalizer, and hopefully an eight-limbed debut to follow.
