Giving Thanks For The Gearing of the Fulling

Man, it’s been a little while since we’ve been here. There’s been a nice little gap in cards for picking purposes (that we remembered before bell time were happening). Either way, Mike has 4 more challengers to turn away in a mega-prediction marathon with tonight’s Full Gear and next week’s Survivor Series being combined into one competition.

Once again, your commentary track is provided by the one, the only, the tower of power, too sweet to be sour: Zack

Dark Tag Match: RoPponGi Vice

Call me when the Rizzler has a heel turn.

Dark $200k Four-Way Tag Match: The Ex-Claimed

If this angle isn’t to get the boys back together as a heel or tweener team, then I don’t know what the point is. The Bang Boys (wait) don’t need any help to get over, the Outrunners are dark match gatekeepers forever and ever, and I already forgot the fourth team. Also maybe two $$$ matches are too many $$$ matches for a card?

Dark Trios Match for the CMLL World Trios Championship: El Sky Team

We’ll continue to see more build between Konosuke and Kazuchika. Seems like the right time for one to cost the other a PPV-ish match.

Dark Whatever Tag Bullshit: Jeets and A-Rod

No idea which of those that Eddie and Hook represent. Maybe a little of each.

Singles Match for the AEW Women’s World Championship: It’s Saturday Night, Who Else?

If nothing else, AEW Creative saw how well Iyo Sky was received after retaining her belt as a huge underdog to do so. Different vibe here, with Kris as a betting favorite, but look for her to retain like Iyo did

Cage Match for the AEW World Championship: The Man The PPV Is Named After

I do think we’ll get some fun after this, and I hope said fun is the dude who can never find his house. Enough time has passed, let Swerve and Hanger both get a piece again.

AEW World Tag Team Championship: Fhat the Ruck

It makes sense. You have an FTR on the roster specifically to put titles on them. Brodido had a longer reign than I expected, and fully turned from transitional champ to legit titleholders. But it had to come to an end, and this feels like as good of a time as any.

$1,000,000 Trios Match: Omegassic Kenpress

All this is leading to the Bucks face turn (I’m assuming), and they’re some of the few that can run with a bit for a long time without running it into the ground. Wherever this goes – especially if it gets us a proper Elite again – I’m along for the ride.

Casino Gauntlet Match for the Inaugural AEW National Championship: Pretty Ricky

Ricochet is, finally, gonna get some gold! I think! Maybe! Much like FTR, Ricochet is a dude who should have mid-level gold on him, so I’m hoping this comes through.

AEW TNT Championship: SUSSEX COUNTY BABY

Two guys who had to adapt to singles competition unexpectedly. One far more tragic than the other, of course, but both had such a high hill to climb – and both surpassed all expectations. This is a feud that I wouldn’t mind seeing play out for the next 10 years. Mark absolutely deserves to go over here, but there are a ton of directions you can go after – including the aforementioned running it back.

Grudge Match: Darby Fullgear

I mean, what to say? It’s about the only thing you can do with these guys – including Jon and KOR. Unlike Mark/Kyle, this is one that I don’t know that I need more of. It will at least be a banger of a match though.

AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship Tournament Stip Match: The Sinsters (that one’s free, TK)

Having a PPV match to determine a stip for a future (hopefully ALSO PPV) match is kinda weird. Considering that the Timeless Love Bombs are likely gonna take down the whole thing; this is merely an AAA TripTix to help us all get there.

No Holds Barred Match: KOR

Jon not going over is a refreshing change of pace. But I feel like the needle can swing the other way too, and Jon could maybe not go over enough? It’s hard to just give him time off, since there’s a whole host of folks who would need something to do. Maybe he gets ousted from the Death Riders and then gets some time off? That’s about all you can do at this point.
