Listen, if I were clever enough to make up a funny title… well, I’d probably still be doing this but someone else would be laughing right about now. That’s about as good as you get. It was a title gag or a reference to the Billy Ocean song and that lands with a guaranteed 3 people in 2026. (Tear Down These Walls is actually a pretty tight R&B record, highly recommend if you’re a fan of that late 80’s sound, but my bad, that’s literally another show.) 10-Person Tag Match: Birth Right
Honestly, I dig the whole Descendants vibe. (Sure, Stacks doesn’t exactly make sense here, but he’s a decent enough booby prize for not landing Uriah’s big bro.) You gotta push this stable, and maybe it’s me picking with my heart here, but it feels like the right call.
Tag Team Titles: The Vanity Project
It’s tough to tell what to make of Jackson Drake dropping the Evolve title to Aaron Rourke last month (truly back in February but tape delay is a helluva drug). Tying up loose ends in Evolve for the Vanity Project? Perhaps. A full divestiture for the stable? Perhaps. I do think Los Americanos have more meat on the bone with the main brand though, which is why I see the Vanity Project going over.
North American Title: Myles Borne
The once-leader of The Way (shout-out Indianapolis Hartwell) has his work cut out for him here, and I don’t think he goes over. Truly, Borne needs it for his own legitimacy as a top guy in NXT way more than Gargano ever will. Plus, Borne’s reign is less than 2 months old, and it needs to breathe a bit yet.
Women’s Title: Lola Vice
Ah, the ol’ double-victory. A pinfall win for Kendal Grey, and a submission win for Lola Vice, but in the same match at the same time… it’s as good of a setup for a triple threat as any, to be fair. I feel like the AAA tie-in with Lola Vice, along with the possibility of Jayne starting to get a bit stale, will swing the needle Vice’s direction. Nothing at all against Jayne, as she’s been fantastic for the whole run, especially the program with Tatum Paxley. Speaking of…
Women’s North American Title: Tatum Paxley
Maybe this ends their program? I feel like it’s the right time to do that. I don’t know where you go from here with Tatum… probably not time for a big title run, but maybe a program with Zaria? Assuming that Sol Ruca gets called up to the bigs soon, which, again, speaking of…
Grudge Match: Zaria… probably.
Why would anyone put Ruca over in NXT at this point? She doesn’t appear to be factoring into the big picture on the brand (unless she goes after Lola Vice, which I really just don’t see at this point). She mentioned on a recent interview that she is hoping to get the call in 2027, which I have to feel that it’s sooner than that. Zaria will make sense at least in the near term to stay with the NXT brand though.
NXT Title: Joe Hendry
Neither Saints nor Page make sense… yet. Neither does the suddenly brooding Tony D’Angelo. I do see D’Angelo being in “the mix” for a while yet, and perhaps this finish leads to Hendry vs. D’Angelo at Battleground in May (or at least I’m assuming that’s gonna be the next NXT event). Look for Saints or Page to take the pin, which should tell you what you need to know about which one of the pair will be booked better going forward. Unless this leads to a program between the two of them, of course.
