Paul Bettany on a Pole Match: Bron Breakker
Whenever we talk about who “needs” a win, it gets dicey, right? It’s sometimes clear-cut, but not always… and this is one of those times. I think you can do more creatively with Bron in victory, up to and including a full rocket, whereas I don’t think you can re-inject Seth to a top program as easily.
US Title: Trick Williams
Lil Yachty will take a lil bump, and hopefully will do better overall than Travis Scott did. (Yes, that’s a low bar. And no, I’m not doing the dumb dollar sign. It’s dumb, Travis! It needed to be said.) As Sami starts to wind it down, he’s basically emeritus. He’ll get wins few and far between, and he’ll put folks over in the process… and he’ll make Trick look fantastic on Saturday.
Fridge Match: Iyo Sky
That was supposed to read “Grudge Match” but I didn’t have the heart to fix the autocorrect. Plus it kinda fits, as this program has cooled quite a bit leading to this blow-off. I think both women will be happy to move on to bigger and better once this one’s done.
Tag Team Match: Danhausen and TBD
Finisher Faithful, y’all know the rule of thumb by now: if TBD is in a match, you never bet against them. You’ll be right WAY more than you’re wrong. As a bonus: that TBD is none other than the returning Kevin Owens, cleared ahead of schedule and ready for a quick squash.
World Heavyweight Title: Roman Reigns
I think that Jacob will be the man to eventually dethrone Reigns. Eventually. Not quite yet. He needs to be more over, and he needs a REALLY great showing in defeat on Saturday. If he can keep the fans engaged, then he’ll have that strap – probably at Summer’s Lamb.
