To me, this comes down to the competitors involved. No Gabe Kidd, no Pac, no Claudio… no deal for the heels. I’m assuming (hoping?) that we get a Blood & Guts blow-off, and that all these stables can go gentle into that good night (of other bookings, finally).
Jack Perry’s Kinda-Sorta Revenge Tour: Jack Perry
I’m honestly not sure where exactly this is headed. Is Jack getting a legit push? Is he staying on the midcard and getting a tiny bit more TV/PPV time? Will Anna finally kick him out of the home for making too many bladed weapons? Time will tell.
#1 contender to the AEW Women’s World Championship at WrestleDream: Thekla
Thekla is the freakin’ best. Willow is the freakin’ best. They should both win. Alas… it’s time for Thekla to get back into the mix. She’s been so heavily featured, even during All In, where she wasn’t even booked!
Creative is high on her, and they damn well should be. Both of these women will remain firmly in the picture in the coming months.

I get why they have to do it, but it sounds so weird to hear Tony Schiavone yell “IT’S STEEEEEEEEEEEEEVE…n” – like just drop the N! Yes, technically he is Steven, and Sting is Steve, and I don’t care because it sound silly.

Three-way ladder match for the AEW World Tag Team Championship: The Young Bucks
…the Young Bucks. Look: this match is simultaneously in a vacuum, and in a time capsule. All the spots will happen, all the homage finishers… maybe Adam will recreate the mid-air spear spot? Either way, it’ll be an absolute joy all the way through, and the right team will go over at the end.
AEW World Trios Championship: Swerve and the New Level
I thought briefly that maybe it was time for a titular swerve, with Kofi and Austin turning their backs on The Realtor, but it’s way too soon for that. Eventually they’ll go their separate ways, but not yet. And until they do, they’ll hold gold.
Chicago Street Fight for the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship: The Brawling Birds
I have a hunch that this match will be iconic. None of these four women will hold back at all, and this is the perfect cap to what’s been a lovely program.
Do we see a reset for Megan and Lena after this? Maybe back into singles action? Who knows. Much like the Men’s Tag Title match, let’s just revel in this moment instead of wondering what comes next.
AEW National Championship: Andrade el Idolo
It’s a damn shame that Pac doesn’t get more shine, but I get it: all the talent in the world, but he’s like the 5th option in a 6-horse stable (sorry DG), and he’s not gonna get a push in that configuration.
Andrade, however, will hold the big enchilada at some point in the next 6 months. You heard me. He’s leveled up in every conceivable way, and the fans are on board. It’s a no-brainer.
AEW International Championship: Kazuchika Okada
Should be a fun romp for the two, but it’s a speedbump for each. For Tommaso, it will help cleanse the palate of the Jericho program, even in a loss. For Kazuchika, it will be a continued springboard toward…? Maybe a date with Will at some point in the near future? I don’t hate that. No one hates that.
AEW TBS Championship: Persephone
I know, I know. I’m going against my longstanding rule that TBA/TBD remains undefeated forever, because in this case I don’t think it’ll happen. Persephone is so early in her reign, AND she has the backing of the D.M.D… why end that so abruptly?
Hell, even if this is the start of a program with whoever the mystery combatant is, great. I just don’t see how a loss makes any sort of sense here for the champ. There is one person in which a title swap makes sense, but I refuse to get my hopes up over that.
AEW World Championship: Will Ospreay
According to the odds published by Figure Four Online, Will Ospreay is, BY FAR, the biggest favorite on the card. That’s unfortunate, because, yeah, I get it. The booking is what it is, right? I don’t mind it at all.
But on the other hand, sometimes big favorites still have to have matches too. As long as this leads down the road somehow, someway, then it’s a win. If both men end up where they started the day, after all is said and done? Then it’s kinda whatever. Maybe a lights-out debut to sweeten the deal at the end?
